# Emergency Response to the Cyclone

The cyclone severely affected several coastal regions of Madagascar. In response to this emergency, **Caritas Madagascar** mobilized from the very first hours in coordination with the **BNGRC** (National Bureau for Risk and Disaster Management).

## A rapid mobilization

As soon as the cyclone alert was announced, our field teams:

- Assessed priority needs in affected areas
- Distributed emergency kits (food, drinking water, blankets)
- Set up temporary shelters for displaced families
- Coordinated with local authorities for access to isolated areas

> "We were able to intervene in less than 48 hours thanks to our diocesan network present across the entire territory." — Caritas Madagascar Regional Coordinator

| Indicator | Result |
|---|---|

## Next steps

Caritas Madagascar's action doesn't stop at immediate emergency relief. A medium-term reconstruction plan is being developed, including:

1. Rehabilitation of damaged school infrastructure
2. Support for the resumption of agricultural activities
3. Psychosocial support for the most affected families
